Singapore’s achievements in maths and science education are internationally recognised. I was delighted to read that Lim Jeck, a student at NUS High School, has achieved a perfect score and the top position in the International Mathematical Olympiad in Argentina this year. The Singapore team of six students won one gold medal, two silver and two bronzes, and ranked sixth overall. Congratulations to Lim Jeck and the whole Singapore team!
Congratulations also to our team at the International Biology Olympiad, which won first place (and four gold medals) last week! This was the first time we have won the Biology Olympiad, and also the first time that Singapore hosted the event.
